Default 67-79 3 wheeler need help please.

Hello all, so glad to find this place, any help would be appreciated. Picked up an old EZ go 3 wheeler from what I can tell it's of the 67-79 variety, can't find a serial number and there is no motor in the cart, but hey it was a 100.00, lol

Questions, cheapest way to repower this, and I noticed this has a rear drive pulley that is mounted right off of the rear axle where a pinon yoke would be on a car, IOW it is basically sideways, is it possible to use this rear with a repower or would a guy be better off with a newer style rear with the pulley groove facing forward??

Thx all,

Your best bet is to find a 2pg engine from 81 to 88. Even then, I'm not so sure the cradle would fit the engine mounts. You might need the entire cradle.

Hey Thx for that, so will the 2pg engine work with that sideways rear clutch setup?

The 2pg is side to side. The engine runs in forward, and reverse. The rear end has no way to change direction, so the engine does it.

Let me ask you this.

3pg parts do him no good. The drive belt goes from front to back.

An ancient 3 wheeler with no engine, and no available parts... They should have paid you a hundred bucks to haul it away. Even if you spend a ton of time and money, it's still a 3 wheeler. That design went away for a reason.
