![]() Im working on an 01 PDS cart and the solenoid will close then open when you press the pedal but the solenoid will not stay closed. The solenoid is good, and I'm pretty sure the controller may be my problem. I just wanted to check and be sure there isn't anything im overlooking.

![]() Sounds like the solenoid is either dropping out by itself (failing), OR the control circuit is dropping out (keyswitch, Reed switch, ITS micro). Put the cart in diagnostic mode and listen for beep codes.
Also, what kinda shape are the batteries in? |

![]() If you jump the soleniod (jumping the LARGE terminals only), will that cart run? A big misconception is assuming the soleniod is good, just because it "clicks"...

![]() I put it in the diagnostic mode and it beeps the low voltage code I think was 2-1. Then when you press the pedal it beeps the 3-3 code for contactor did not close. The batteries are good and the voltage isn't low. I had a new solenoid so I put it on just to eliminate that. The coil voltage comes in for just a few seconds then drops out.

![]() The battery pack reading is about 42 volts, the cart has been running for at least three years with one 8 volt battery, and five 6 volts could that have caused the failure?

![]() No - because your charger is only going to charge the pack to the 36 volt amount. Adding an extra 2 volts would only help on the initial addition, IF the battery was fully charged, from then on, it would be just like another 6 volt after charging with the 36 volt charger.

![]() Let's get a digital reading of each battery one hour after the charger finishes it's cycle.
