Default lower my rpms

Hello I have 2001 club car gas cart with a fe290 engine. Is there a way to lower the rpms of the cart? I do have a 6 inch lift kit with 22-11-10 tires on it. Thanks for any help

In that case i think you need to look at your drive belt and/or clutch,

12mph at 3900 rpms, somethings wrong there. the rpms shouldnt be that high even with 18" tires unless its geared high

ok guys lets make sure I have this tachometer set to the right settings first. That way I know what its reading is actually the rpms of my cart. It has 4 settings:
1-spark plug fires twice per revolution
2-once per revolution
3-everyother revolution
4-display no rpms

Which setting should it be on? Then I can retest things and we can go from there. Thanks for any help.

Try setting #1... Most small engines use a "wasted spark" ignition system, meaning the plug fires every time the piston hits TDC...

If option 1 is what I need then I had it all wrong. Putting it on option 1 will bring the rpm reading way down. I will test it today and let you know the results. Thanks.
