whining noise while driving
I have a 1981 Ezgo it is new to me and this is my first cart. It has a whining in the drive train. I cant tell if it is the differential or clutches it gets louder the faster you go. I have changed the grease in the rear end this winter and put on a new belt but never drove it till I took it to the lake this spring. I had it running on jack stands this winter and did not notice the whining then. What do you think this could be. I know this is hard to diagnose on line so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Chuck |

Re: whining noise while driving
You'll probably need to dissasemble the clutches and differential to look for any broken or worn parts. If the whining is based on speed of the cart it is probably the differential or a bearing somewhere.

Re: whining noise while driving
I think that I would slip the belt off and run the engine. This will pin the noise down to the rear end or the drive clutch.
