Yes I did. Big thing to look for, with the jug off of the block, grab the connecting rod between the crank and the piston and see if there is any side to side "play" or wobble in it where it connects to the crank. Also If it was me and I knew nothing about the engine or how long it had been sitting or when the last rebuild had been done if ever, I would want to check the crank seals and bearings. The seals are what seals around the crank shaft and the block. They are located on each end the the crank shaft at the block housing. The only way to see them good it to pull the clutch and the fly wheel. Not a easy task if you don't have the correct tools. Also spin the crank by hand and see if it spins freely or if it is rough. Also see if there is any movement in the shaft. This would indicate bad bearings, worn crank journal or the block is worn where the bearings mount.
I am no expert by any means, just my opinion.

That is great info and a big help. I'm sure I don't have the right tools for that. I hope I don't have to worry about that now. I'll post back. Thanks again, I hope to see you back here. (Hopefully not asking what tools those are exactly).
