DS slow and rapid battery drain
My 2004.5 DS with 2010 trojan t860s and a PQ Bandit is running a top speed of 15 (when is used to run 21-22) and the battery meter is dropping quickly after a full charge. No lights to cause drain. No strange noises. No smells. Checked batteries with an analog voltmeter and all are showing just over 8 volts 24 hrs after a full charge. Suggestions as to what could be causing this and/or what to check next? Thanks

4 year old batteries ... i would do a load test ..
get a digital volt meter !! you will get better results |

Use a Digital Multi Meter for more accurate results as what's just over 8 volts is just about shot... Load test as suggested by CTD and/or check your specific gravity.... Analog meter as just not enough when your dealing with a mear .4 volt between top shelf and garbage can....
Fully charged battery at 100 % is 8.49 and 60 % is 8.16 and 50 % is 8.07 so if your showing just over 8 volts then your batteries are toast... |

Man, talk about a fine line between good and bad. I'll test with digital tomorrow and report back. Thanks to both for the quick input.
