Melex conversion

I bought an old steel body electric Melex and I want to convert to use an old Honda 1972 450cc engine in it. I would like to know if anyone has converted an electric rear end to use a gasoline engine. ****!!!!!! It is cold here in north Texas it was 17 degrees when I set down at the computer and it is now 10.9 degrees and dropping .1 degrees every few minutes I May not need a golf cart. Anyone got a good heater for sale cheap? Where the hell is global warming? Hurry up and get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This type of 'conversion' is not reccommended. The whole "electric to gas" thing has been discussed many times. Use the search to find what has been said about this many times

Your right, I will try to find a gas rear end to replace the original.
or put in a new solid axle with a chain drive sprocket.

I know you said that it is not recommended and I agree with you but I need a very cheap slow cart for a cow pasture golf course we have here. The melex is ugly (beat up) and I probably will just part it out and buy an old gas model. Thanks for the input!

I had an old Melex which was quite pasture worthy Find some old batteries
