Press the gas but barely moves now

I have a 99 EZGO with a 24hp honda gas engine. Has ran perfectly the entire time i have owned it but I recently had to replace a cracked rear differential case/fluid. I took it out and it ran fine for about 1 hour then slowed down to a crawl. When you floor the accelerator it barely moves (had to push it up the trailer ramp :( )
I am not mechanical so any suggestions would be appreciated???

Are the brake drum splines stripped?

then the next obvious thing would be the diff rebuild. Got something wrong there and you might get more help in the gas ez-go section.
