Just got an old Harley 6 volt..Now what??
Well.I think I've found the right place to chat it up with some folks in the know.I am a mascot for our local animal shelter.I was searching for the right vehicle to make into a mascot ride for parades and apperances.I nice couple gave me an old 6 volt Harley cart. Now,the tires are rotted, and the batteries are shot.I have no charger either.I guess my first questions are....1.Is it going to be too expensive to fool with?2.Should I just trade it for a gas cart? Will it run in a hour long parade??.I guess before I sink a dime into it.I need to know if it will meet my needs.I have no attachment to it.Being old or not,it's just a tool for the mascot.Would a vintage guy drool over this thing?Haven't checked the tag yet,but it's got 2 front seats(no bench seat)and the steering bar.I can't complain too much.It was free! What do you guy's think?

Re: Just got an old Harley 6 volt..Now what??
If it was free sounds like you got something to work with, and first of all its not 6 volt, it uses 6 6 volt batteries, but its a 36 volt cart, sounds like it would be perfect for what you are gonna use it for, especially since its a classic, I personally love the classics, I say you should go with it, someone on here may have a charger they would sell for one, and also a great place for vintage golf cart parts is www.vintagegolfcartparts.com and also there is www.***********.com , vintage is new parts and parts 4 carts is really Alabama Golf carts, they sell used cart parts, nice people and they have tons of harleys, I hope you found this useful! and good luck! post plenty of info on this and pictures!
