Re: G22e Batteries, charger, ??? Melted conector
Sorry; been busy & now it's to cold/snowy to test. I see it goes down when driving; but it's under the seat so not easy to see.
I haven't chrged it since this posting; made 3-4 mailbox runs (1/4mi each) and in 25F temps batt still read 47.1V; so I guess that's pretty good all things considered! |

Re: G22e Batteries, charger, ??? Melted conector
Bryan,
Keep your batteries fully charged, and you might get another year or 3 from them. Bear in mind that any plug connection will have a bit of resistance, which is bad and will cause heat. Generally, the heat should be very minimal with a good connection, if it's so hot as to be uncomfortable, it's too hot. It helps to use some dielectric grease or other lube. My favorite chemical for electrical connections is Corrosion-X: http://www.corrosionx.com/ I've used this stuff on corroded electrical connections with fantastic results. Quick testimonial: I changed out the key switch in my C.C. project because I had no key (bought at auction). Got a standard CC key from a vendor, and when I tried the thing, my ohmmeter told me that the switch was iffy at best. So, I squirted the Corrosion-X into the switch and operated it numerous times. Then, let it sit for a couple of days. My ohmmeter now tells me that the switch is probably usable. |
