Default 90 G5E 36 V motor

Can anyone tell me how many splines on original 1990 Yamaha Sun Classic 36 volt GE motor?

If the axle has bolted on axle tubes, it is a yamaha built axle (as opposed to a dana), and has 10 splines. If you are looking into a motor swap, all series clubcar motors will also fit. If you go this route, Be careful not to go very big on motor hp over stock, the resistor coil setup will not be pleased.

Thanks for the info. This confirms my suspicion. The Sun Classic has been upgraded with 400 amp controller, 4 gauge wires and HD solenoid and Scotty's Reversing contractors. Now I want a little more speed.

Good for you! I alway's thaught Yamaha should have made the G5 Sunclassic a controller operated car. Lets see some pix's of the current installation.

Sweet! Now we're talking. Tons of speed options are open now that the stock resistor coils are history...
