Default Finally finished my winter project...1991 Club Car DS

This started as a run of the mill 1991 Club Car DS 36 volt resistor cart. I tore the whole cart down and cleaned, sanded, and re-painted everything. I replaced all the hardware (nuts and bolts) on the suspension. I coated the frame and under carriage assembly with spray on truck bed liner. I upgraded the electrical system to 48 volt, new solenoid, PB-6 pot box, 6 new Crown CR-190 8 volt batteries, D&D ES-58 torque motor, AllTrax AXE 650 amp controller, onboard Delta-Q Quiq 48 volt charger, and #2 AWG welding cable wires.

After prep, the body was brought to a local sign shop where it where it was base coated, air brushed, and cleared. Added 6" Jake's spindle lift, Jake's front disc brake kit, All Sports running boards, ITP SS 212 chrome rims with ITP 23"x10"x12" all trail tires, new seat covers, and some good dres up items by Strech Plastics.

I'm very happy with how my first cart turned out. Now I'm going to try and start a business of doing this.

Many Thanks to Justin at 3R Sales for supplying me with all my parts!!!

Nice work. Tell me about the rear seat. Is that totally custom? It looks like the cushion is the same as the front. I'd like to do something similar with my 88 DS that doesnt have a roof.

Thank you.

The rear seat is exactly the same as the front. It came on the cart. It is a Club Car accessory that was offered from the dealer. I don't know if they make them like this anymore? Check with your local Club Car dealer.

Thats a kick-*** lookin cart and if you do carts like that in your business you want to start,I am sure you will do good.Just keep in mind that not everybody has the money to spend on a cart like that.

Thanks fixer!!!

I realize that this is over the top for most people so I am going to do repairs and sell parts as well. I have a seasonal site in a local campground and we have around 300 golf carts in the park and nobody who works on them so this gives me a good place to start. This is going to be a part time gig for me unless it really takes off.
