Default Electric Torque vs Gas Torque

I just got a 2003 IQ 48V for use at the race track towing the race car around the pits. I'm wondering what the torque specs are between gas and electric carts...I don't need speed, just pulling power. The dealers recommended electric because they are smoother and would have better low end torque. So that's the route I went. I haven't tried it out yet other than cruising the neighborhood. Any comments?

Also when I got it, they programmed the cart for the highest speed setting...does that reduce low end torque or just increase the top end speed? I would think with electric it wouldn't affect the torque but I could be wrong.

I love the cart and everything is new except chassis, motor etc. I just hope I made the right decision (electric over gas)
