Yamaha G1 For Sale - Grandpa's Cart
I picked up this golf cart this past summer from someone locally. It belonged to an elderly man that used it for golfing.....imagine that! LOL Anyway, the story goes that it was used daily until the engine blew. Then the man's son took the engine apart to fix it.....well, six years later here we are. I was told it was kept in his garage for that time, and he believed that it was garaged by his dad. I was going to fix and use the cart, but I have decided to sell it because I need the money right now.
I have a rebuilt engine that I will be putting in it this week. It appears that's all it will need to run and drive. It needs tires because they are cracked, but holding air. It needs some cosmetics. I can post updates as we go along. But I wanted to get the pics up here asap to see if anyone has any interest. The only cracks in the body are up front near the cup holders. It appears that someone tried to mount something up there and it broke off. The passenger side cup holder area is the worst, there are holes there. Not a problem structurally, but a cosmetic fix. To be honest, this is one of the nicest G1's I've seen. It appears that this cart was garaged for most of it's life, hardly any weather/sun damage, if any at all. I haven't had much time to go over this thing yet, but here's what I can tell you so far. The frame is in good shape. The body is good (other than the cup holder areas). It has usable tractor seats that match the blue paint. And boy....is that paint blue! Whew! The top is good. It has the bag straps, basket, and even a ball washer. The marker light and mirror will be removed. It has carpet on the floor board area, but it's bad and needs removed. I don't know if the rubber flooring is underneath, I'm guessing no. It has baby moon hubcaps that are pitted and need polished at the least, might need re-chromed. The bumpers are not banged up, but one of the front bumper end caps is broken. The rear bumper is very nice.....almost tempted to rob that part LOL. It does need a brake return spring, as they all do eventually. Not much to do on this one. So, if someone wanted a cart that doesn't need much to be super nice, this would be a good candidate. No telling what it's worth with some light body work, a paint job, and some tires. Certainly it would make a good cart for a campground or retirement community, or you could use it around the house. Please PM me if you are interested. |

A few more pics. You can see the cracks in the cup holder areas. Also, the blue Ford tractor seats are in really nice shape, and whoever mounted them made an aluminum diamond plate mount for the seats, you can see in the pics.

Re: Yamaha G1 For Sale - Grandpa's Cart
Ha, good memory. No I have another G2 waiting for the 440 clone. I might just sell the spare Vanguard once the other one is built. Thought I'd keep the G2 for a while.
Wanna buy this one? LOL |

Re: Yamaha G1 For Sale - Grandpa's Cart
I may be completely wrong here......Andy may agree with me. I would never want to Big Block another G1. Way to much work to maintain reverse when there are so many other carts out there that are a lot easier to do the conversion.
