Default Yamaha Gas intermittent no engine start

Yamaha G29- 2008- Golf Cart has intermittent fault when starting. It may run fine for 12 holes then become unresponsive when depressing accelerator pedal, ie, the engine wont fire, but the starter turns. Releasing & depressing accelerator a few times gets it going, but I fear it will eventually get worse. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
