I can admit when I am wrong.

I still think the shop coulda/shoulda done a better job on the carb stuff.

Quote:
11/07 - replaced fuel pump, cleaned carb, adjusted valves, changed oil.
6/08 - tune up - adjusted valves, cleaned carb, installed carb vent lines, new plugs
7/08 - replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, carb, fixed carb linkage & adjusted governor linkage
If it needed carb vent lines 6/08, why didn't they install them 11/07? If the carb & governor linkages were messed up, why didn't they fix it when they had it 6/08 instead of waiting till they had it 7/08?
If they replaced the plugs 6/08, why did they replace them again 7/08? Wasn't bad plugs, because they were paid to replace them both times.

I can understand both sides of this. The shop replaces what it needs to, to make it run. Most people flip when they have a $350.00 "tune up" for a golf cart. If the shop replaced all the rubber, serviced the clutches, changed oils, adj. valves and all the other little things that they could do, and charged accordingly, you would never go back...
Most people say, "make it run" they don't ask, "can you make it like brand new?? The mechanic will make it run.

When you store your cart add Stabil to the fuel tank. This will keep the fuel from turning to varnish and probably save you some future carb cleaning. Use it as directed. If I have the chance I run everything dry. This is not really recommended. Condensation in the float bowl will cause corrosion of the aluminum and steel parts. It is better than BAD gas..

Once again - The cart was last serviced 13 months ago. The chrystalized fuel wasn't in your carb when it was running. You cannot sell people new fuel lines with every tune up! I only mentioned it to make sure that the carb wasn't getting blocked by small pieces coming from the old line.

I just don't get it m- seems like we saved you a $200.00 shop visit

Not whining. Just trying to explain.

I am VERY grateful for the help I got here. You definately helped save me $$.

I put STABIL in EVERY can of gas I buy. An ounce of prevention and all that.

I hope to eventually be concidered a valued member of these forums. I am new to the whole Golf Cart thing. Have big (to me) plans for this cart.

I've always owned a Workhorse - They are great carts to play on.

What's behind is behind - No crying over spilt milk, especially if it were someone elses milk spilt 13 months ago
