CC will not move today and will not charge.
I did read through some of the stickies and other threads.
This is regarding a Club Car, ser# A8730 123xxx, 36V. The batteries are less than 6 months old. There are 6 - US Battery US2000XC. I used the car yesterday with no issues. When i tried it today, it would not move. The key was out, the switch was in the off position, but It felt like the forward/reverse lever might have been in the forward position. I put the charger on it and nothing. I usually hear a solenoid (whatever it is) click and the charger start. This time nothing. I used a volt meter to check the batteries. They were all low, 3-5V, but one battery is below 1 volt. What do i need to do? Thanks |

Get your batteries recharged and figure out what's draining them. When they get that low, it's very bad for them.

Re: CC will not move today and will not charge.
These cart chargers need to see a minimum 2/3s pack voltage to turn on. If you are competent in DC electric you can remove the charger cover and jumper (bypass) the start relay. Or you can use a 12v charger on 3 pr of 6v batteries to get them back to 5-6v each so the charger can turn on. Either way a battery with 1v is likely a gonner.

Re: CC will not move today and will not charge.
Regarding using a car charger. I have a 12V charger with settings for regular and deap cycle, also 2A, 12A and 75A.
I tried it with 2A and 12A. Each try had issues. After a short period (minute, maybe) the charger needle started swinging crazy and the clamps started getting hot. What should the setting be for the car charger? Should the cart batteries be disconnected from the cart during charge? Charge 2 cart batteries at once? Thanks |

Re: CC will not move today and will not charge.
NO need to disconnect anything. Charge 2 at a time with 12-25a should be fine. You may have a shorted out battery internal plate or loose clamp connection?
But this works like a charm under normal conditions. |

Re: CC will not move today and will not charge.
Using the car charger with a 2 amp trickle charge for 2 batteries at a time got the cart charged and moving. I will keep an eye on the suspect battery.
Thanks |
