Default G2 going to the back of the line.

I picked this up from an old guy by me. Cart is in great shape and runs good (not great), so a little maintenance is due. Runs really well unless you floor it, then it bogs down. I already ordered a new air box cover (broken) and new rubber air box lid hooks (missing). I'm gonna replace the carb, plug, filters and belts. What do ya think?

Prob doesn't need a carb, if the air box lid is broken that will allow too much air in at full throttle. I'd just clean it and do all the other cheaper maint first. If there is slop in the throttle shaft, then you might replace it. Most times carbs are good, just dirty.

Thanks guys, I only bought it because it was in such nice shape, especially for a 1990. Plus i picked it up for $800, not bad. I also agree with you Slo, I was just looking at it and it looks as if mice had gotten to the air box. I'd seen the damage to the cover but now it looks like I've found more inside the lower part of the air box as well.
Carb was only part of the plan if the other needed maintenance stuff wasn't enough.
ive seen some nightmare posts about frame rust on these things, and even though I haven't removed the body yet, it looks really good.
I also found a mint G1 for sale......Might try for that one too :)

Looks like a neat little ride , I like the way the old Yamahas seat back is mounted ,looks very sturdy. I don't know just has a clean look . Esp. with other mods.
