Re: 94 txt steering
What happens when in forward? Sounds like you need to replace ALL the bushings and tie rods....possibly the steering box and gears if it's that sloppy.

Re: 94 txt steering
Steering isnt really squirrelly when going straight, tires go straight when in forward.I have a 4 in lift, 20" tires, steering shock/stabilizer.the only odd thing I see, the tie rods are not straight across.,kind of the wheel ends are higher than the steering arm ends.,could this be it,or just replace all as suggested? thanx in advance...

Re: 94 txt steering
Jack the front up and check the bolts, bushings, steering linkage. Grease and tighten, you will have some play in the front end so don't break the bank on new parts just yet.
Lets also check the alignment. On a flat area drive straight and forward about 5', pick out a place (like the outer edge) on the tire tread and measure across the front tires from tire to tire, then from the same place as the front (outer edge) measure across the back of the front tires from tire to tire , the front measurement should be 3/16" to 1/4" less than the rear measurement. (toe-in) Keep us posted. |
