My son is 12 and his interests have shifted from helping dad to doing whatever he wants, kinda sucks but with luck he will come back around and start wrenching again!

The best lesson is him helping fix it,while understanding what could have happened, and how much the damaged parts cost to buy.My twins(age-4) are in the garage constantly, and they know(and understand!!)what I do and how long I spend to do it.Plus they are always asking "is it done,so we can go in the woods"!!!

Kids love to hit trees, can't count how many times they have done it around our place. Maybe you can weld it up or make a new plate.

One day I was watching a pack of 4 kids on a cart and sure enough bam, three kids flew off into the grass. Bet they were going under 15mph but it stopped right away since that oak was 3' wide or so. How do you hit a 3' tree after doing circles around it for half an hour....easy to do when you are a 10yr old or whatever she was. It was a G1 it flattened that front bumper like nothing. Guy had to buy a new one lol.

I remeber when I 12 or so a freind and I hit a bee nest with rocks and they started comming after us so we took off down a hill in my freinds fathers cart ( we where moving !! ) we out ran the bees but at the bottom of the hill was very tall grass that was covering a 2ft tall 3ft around oak tree stump, we nailed it and did the superman over the front of the cart both of us where ok but the cart that was a week old was doing 3 wheel motion . I never seen a guy so pissed as his dad when he found out!!!
