Default Question about G1 rear end.

Working on getting my G1 going bought a rough fixer upper. My question is I took both pulleys off the rear axle shaft coming out of the rear end and I just noticed when I grab that shaft with my hands and spin it the wheels dont spin. This is with the cart jacked up in the air. Is this normal?

try putting pressure on one wheel so it cant turn, and the opposite wheel should turn while you hand crank the transmission shaft. if it does you are good to go as far as with my experience with this rear end.

The brakes could be stuck too. If this thing sat for any length of time, you can bet the drums are rusted and will need freed up.

If you are rotating the input shaft, at least one of the axles should be turning. There is no neutral position on a G1 transaxle.

Spining the shaft with the wheel jacked up and off, brakes free nothing would happen. I took the advice and put pressure (held one wheel with my hand) and turned the shaft and then the other wheel spun.

Thanks for the help guys.
