Also, check out your drive belt and clutches. The belt should be over 1" wide. If it's not, the belt will not rise to the top of either clutch pulley, which takes away from both the low end and top speed capability.

I have a 2007 Drive and after doing clutch and belt work, and with a zip-tied governor, I am just hitting 20 MPH.

Going with 23" tires will add about 5 MPH to your top end. Of course, if you want to make it a street legal car, you may not want to lift it too much. If you don't plan on pulling much weight or climbing steep hills, you can always opt for changing the rear gear set to an 8:1 ratio. That should put you over 25 to around 30 MPH.

Don at Plowman's can talk about all of these options and get you on the right track. 810-736-1100

**update**
with this help of this forum, i took out and corrected a problem i caused with the governor fork. as a result i super cleaned and painted most of the components back there. Here are some pics.

Those are the stock suspension components. I just sanded the crap out of them and painted them. Also, added is a Madjax 6" a=arm lift.

I can tell from the pics you need a new drive belt, your battery is the one that came from the factory in '09 (might wanna start saving your pennies for a new one), and your pretty blue panhard bar is bent (supposed to be straight, will make cart drive crooked). You are off to a good start, you will be having even more fun soon driving it everywhere.

WHAAAAT?

THe belt and battery I figured. I am saving for a Plowman kit. But the Sway Bar???? The one I saw in a video on installing the lift kit also had the same bend.... Swaybar and panhard bar same thing?

oh and the paint was primarily to slow down the rust after I sanded that sh!t down....I just picked blue for contrast.

look how rusty this thing was; surface rust but rust nonetheless.
