EZGO Battery Charger Problem
I have an inoperative EZGO Textron Charger Model 26984. On the internal PCB, a relay labeled RLY1 is charred at the contacts and what appears to be a long resistor labeled R17 shows charring. I cannot find a schematic or parts list but wish to repace said parts to see if this will fix the charger. Can anyone help?

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
They burn out all the time. I have repaired a few. There is an updated board...I dont know if its any better. Some just last longer than others. A picture of the board would help.
I looked at a few but don't see R17 on any of them. If you can post a pic of the board I have several different model boards lying around I can look and compare. I can try and pull the part numbers you need. I buy my electronics from either Allied, Digikey, Jameco, or Mouser. All have good prices. More than likely you can get R17 at radio shack. |

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
This is my PCB and charger. The resistor is the long component (looks pink) at the bottom (R17) and the relay is the dark square component above and to the right of the resistor.

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
I meant to include that the PCB is labeled 19460-G1, relay is an OMRON 14Z2W1. Can't make out anything on the resistor.

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
This one I have is the same part# 19460-G1
R17 (resistor) is a 240 watt 5%. Number on the one I have is "CW10". RLY1 (relay) on mine is made by OMRON #'s on it are as follows. G7G-1A4-CB 12 vdc 2423W1 Just a few notes...I have had about a 50/50 success rate on repairing these boards. Other components can go out as well but most of the time its the relay that burns out. Also the updated boards part # is 28668-G0 |

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
Anyone tried modding the charger voltage? I've added a seventh battery and want to crank up the charger a bit. It charges OK with the stock voltage (about 42 -46), but the rate is slow.

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
42v is not enough to charge 38v of batteries....
you can buy a little 6/12v charger for pretty cheap at walmart... |

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
Are you suggesting chanrging it seperately?
The seventh battery brings the total to 42v (6 X 7), so I'm wondering if there is an easy way to step up the chanrging voltage within the charger to say - 50v to charge the 42v pack. |

Re: EZGO Battery Charger Problem
There is no way to step up the voltage. The voltage is set within the transformer and the way it is built. You would have to replace the transformer with one of higher voltage and then change all the other components to match. So basically NO you can't.
