Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
If the batteries are at 51 Volts at the pack, then the charger will probably just come on long enough to do a test and the OBC will tell it to shut off. So it's acting normal as charge goes. At this time I would still try the OBC reset .
But it sounds like U have a loose cable some place. At 51 Volts this should run "." The reason I'm thinking loose is , that it actually charges and solenoid clicks . When U replaced the cables going to the motor did U use 2 wrenches , to keep lug from spinning . We had 1 person last week who wrung the wire inside the motor off , while installing new cables. ?? |

Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
1st...did not replace cables going to motor. Only cables for Batteries, and new charger recepticle. 2nd: I no longer get a solenoid click as I 1st did when at least it stumbled.
I retried the rest to OBC for the 3rd time...I let the reverse buzz stop (10 or so min) waited 15 total. Placed pedel down for another 5 then went back trough steps and still nothing. |

Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
Did U wait until it stopped buzzing . 10 15 25 whatever it takes ?
and next time when U press the gas after reconnecting battery, tap the solenoid few times with the handle of a screw driver, it may be welded open ? PS added 96 DS trouble shooting guide . |

Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
answer the following .
1. Did the reset complete , and buzzer stop buzzing ? 2. go to the stickies and pick out which diagram which fits your cart , tell me which it is ? If yours has the 3 micro switches in the back of the F/R , test the first one (inside aginst the F/R switch ) with the ohm meter to insure it is opening and closing ? |

Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
Reset complete. retested batteries, all still 8.5-8.6 and 50.4 in the series. Solenoid clicks only if I by-pass, but no reading at posts regular or w/ by-pass.
Cart is a 48v series with no tow/run switch. I do have the handle F/N/R switch but how do I test it? |

Re: 96 48V Club Car Help!!!
OK so far If I remember correctly , on the 3 micro switches at the back of the F/R switch.
1. All checked out ohm wise and are opening and closing (on/off). 2. a.the inner most micro (anti arching) has 0 Volts regardless of F/R position and peddle position. b.the 2nd middle micro (reverse buzzer) always has 50+ Volts regardless of F/R position and peddle position. BUT buzzes with F/R in reverse regardless of peddle and key switch. c.The outer micro (12 speed reverse) has 0 volts regardless of F/R position and peddle position. 3. and regardless of F/R , peddle and key there is 0 volts going to the solenoid. Verify all the above are correct , incorrect, partially correct ! |
