U need to leave the charger on until it completed , it should shut itself off after 16
hours if not complete.
Batteries build up a surface charge which takes 6-8 hours to completely dissipate,
so wait 6-8 hours after charge to determine true battery voltage

Then the next day do it again . keep records see if each day it gets better.
keep an eye on the water level , use only distilled to fill 1/4 to 1/2 inch above plates.

The batteries probably boil or bubble until the charger gets down to 5 amps.

Any guarantee on the batteries

its not looking good !

if they are bad after charging ( may charge but it doesn't last very long )

if no warentee try the magnesium sulfate trick see if it will give you anything after a charge.

good luck

Thanks and will keep trying to build them up. Just wondering why there is no reading on hydrometer.

Working to save them and will do everything I can before choosing new batteries. They are being hard headed on wanting to charge up.

So why does the charger get so warm/hot? Do I need to charge in intervals?

The charger that the person has with the cart doesn't like the high amperage and must of weakened the circuit breaker.

Thanks

If you did your hydrometer tests at least 6 hours after filling and had charger on for some time to mix distilled water this is better indication of condition than voltage tests.
I had battery pack yesterday show 50 volts and each battery 8 volts and above, but when I ran cart around for few minutes and retested I found one battery had only 2 volts and hydrometer test showed 1.140 while other batterys showed 1.275.
Im afraid your charger is trying to fill a bottomless pit so to speak with bad batterys?
