mounting a fold windshield
I have a 96 TXT the has an extended top on it. It looks like when they added it, the width on the front supports changed. I bought a foldable windshield, and the windshield is about a 1/2" too wide to fit. If I used grommets on the bottom and the middle before the fold, do you think this would work??

Re: mounting a fold windshield
Where is it too wide ? If at the bottom it may be missing the spacers for the roof strut

Re: mounting a fold windshield
spacers, that windshield can be drilled but if you put bolts through it it will not be able to move like it needs to.

Re: mounting a fold windshield
haha, now I am confused too...just kidding, the spacers are missing, and the windshield is wider on the bottom past the supports, when you add the long black clip it will not fit over the supports. I will try to post pics later

Re: mounting a fold windshield
There should be a spacer and a washer between the upper strut bolt and the body. If it is not enough just put some extra washers.. IMO, I would not drill the windshield.. Measure the width of the ws and report back what that is.. I'm also wondering if you were given the right one.

Re: mounting a fold windshield
I do no I was given the right one because I tried to make it fit and cracked it, and the guy I bought them from allowed me to return it, and I asked him again if it was right. I will report the measurements, should I order spacers, or just pick up some from a local hardware store? thanks for the help KGSC

Re: mounting a fold windshield
If who you got the windshield from is an ez-go dealer he probably has them laying around. If not, washers will do.. Here is a link to how it all should look with part numbers
