You might want to start a new thread on your problem. Give cart serial number, and as much information about your cart and the problem as you can.

Is this problem only fixed with a replacement of the MCOR, or can something be cleaned or adjusted?

Adjustment....no. A fix? Well, since your probably going to replace it anyway, you could try THIS. But stabbing a drill into an electrical device has it's risks of messing up. I've never done it - if I did, I'd be ultra gentle.
