Re: What's your motor temp.
Finally got a chance to ride some. Rode about 6 miles pretty hard, mostly 25 to 30mph. Motor temp was 145 end housing was 135 and wires and connectors 90.

Re: What's your motor temp.
Just for information I called Advanced Motor this morning and asked about motor temp of there 4001 motor it is rated at 180 degrees C and is class H motor windings, that's over 350 degrees F. There measurements are internal ours are external so even if you add 50% more at 170F you still under the rating. At least I know how to make coffee on those cold mornings

Re: What's your motor temp.
This really has me thinking with a 5 gallon water bucket a water pump out of an old camper and some copper tubing wrapped around my motor I could have hot and cold running water, maybe a quick shower HMMM.

Re: What's your motor temp.
A lot of folks on here can answer better than I can but!! Most of the folks that I have talked to that seem to know about motors say 185F to 195F. They make take a little more but I would bet you are giving up motor life. Just remember resistance will = more heat. If the temps go high on the motor you will most likely see higher temps on the cables, connectors and controller. As temps rise so does total resistance which = higher amperage draw, more resistance which will = more heat. Sorry if I ramble. the aliens make me do it right CTD
