91 Club Car: Forward Only, No Reverse

This model only has one solenoid in front of the batteries. I've checked all the electrical connections I can think of:

• limit switch was iffy, so I've bypassed it with a jumper; still no reverse;
• solenoid good (and I can hear it click when I depress accel in reverse);
• measured 18V where the purple wire from F/R switch goes into terminal on top of motor.

Forward works fine in all speeds.
Any ideas before I tear into the motor?

I'm kinda surprised none of the experts in older machines have chimed in yet. Before I drop the motor and start looking inside, can anyone give me a test procedure to measure voltage (or something else) at each of the 4 inputs to the motor to make sure everything else is working??

for reverse swap negative and positive

I suspect the F&R switch. Swap the 2 cables on the center pivoting part.

If this gives reverse / no forward the switch is bad.

That would be consistent with a problem in or to the left of the yellow circled area of the FNR switch. I used the colors from your colored diagram.

but he has 18v at motor and forward works .. only way to get volts to motor is if f/r switch is good

Correct, if the copper bus is damaged to the left of that yellow circle, it will not affect the forward direction as the Gray(white) wire will be in the bottom position touching the +36v battery connection.
When You put on reverse, the Purple will be on top of the +18v, but now there is no connectivity from Brown to Gray.

It's not the motor. It is almost certainly a problem with the F&R switch.
