It would probably be easier just using a $5 48v or 36v relay (depending on cart voltage), the relay coil would be wired to the key switch and the existing power to the light switch would go thru the relay contacts.

I added lights to my G22 Yamaha and I don't like the idea of the lights "hot" all the time. I KNOW one of us is going to leave them on.

I haven't done it yet, but I have a relay and a fuse box ready to install behind the dash to activate with the key switch. Added benefit of doing so is running a heavier wire to handle the added horn, stereo and gauges, along with the lights.

Here's a drawing I found a while ago I think off this forum on how to wire up a relay.

CTD, That would be the best solution. BUT I have one problem. I can't locate or identify the reducer that I now have in my cart. It's the 16 to 12. I asked a long time ago if somebody knew where it was located but I got no answers. I've got a 2010 CC Precedent just like in the picture

i see it comes off the 12 pin connector behind dash
i would go with the 48v to 12v converter for the good of the battery pack

Not sure about the Prec cart but most DS carts had then on the inside drivers frame rail right next to the pack. Bout 10 in long, inch thick and 2 in across. Similar to this..

I just have a marine rocker switch with a green led light built in switch. And it light up when on. No need for a buzzer when I bright light is staring you in the face. Saying turn me off.
