What is causing "Limp In" mode?
I just acquired a 2009 CC Precedent 48 volt electric (PH0936-050946) – and it has proved to be very unreliable. The batteries were new last year, Trojan T875 (8 volt). After giving it a full charge, I can drive it for only about 10 minutes and it slows down to a crawl (a slow walk speed). After spending much time on this forum I think that the problem is either a bad speed sensor or MCOR. I removed the Gen 2 pedal assembly to see if the TPS had been replaced with a MCOR2 but I can’t tell what I am looking at. See attached picture. Is this a TPS or an MCOR?
Since I don’t know the history of the cart, I’m not sure what other things could be causing me problems. I have checked all of the easy stuff like tight and clean battery cables. I don’t want to just start replacing parts on a trial and error basis. Thanks! |

Re: What is causing "Limp In" mode?
My 06 was recently having issues where it would just lose throttle and then come back. I didn't want to chase the problem with parts either. I posted here and decided to change the MCOR. That fixed the throttle issue but then the cart would only go about 10mph. Found that the speed sensor was also bad. Swapped that and now all is well. Your issue sounds like at least speed sensor.

Re: What is causing "Limp In" mode?
That is not "limp mode", the speed sensor failure results in 50% power output which is about 8mph with stock components.
That TPS sensor is more likely to produce the crawl speed you are experiencing. RevolutionGolfCars (site sponsor) has the conversion kits to upgrade to an MCOR4. |

I replied to your email. Sorry for the delay. I'm not working over the holiday weekend. Had to sneak on the computer before the wife woke up.

I would think by the sound of it, speed sensor. Then I go to the beach know I always take a spare one with me.

Re: What is causing "Limp In" mode?
I have ordered the conversion kit to get rid of the TPS. If that doesn't fix my problem then I will move on to the speed sensor.

Even if it doesn't, the TPS needs to be removed. There was a huge recall on the TPS and they were supposed to have all been changed over. Some slipped through the cracks and didn't get the update.
