![]() Hey guys, I'm planning to build some sweet hunting buggies from EzGo carts soon, and I'll be going with 500 amp Alltrax programmable controllers, high amp solenoids, 4 ga cables, a heavy F/R switch if it's not a PDS cart, and a high torque motor from D&D motors or the GE Beast. Does anyone have any idea which is better? I have heard from the people at Beast 48 that the D&D torque motors gave them a lot of problems so they started using the GE beast, and have had no issues since.... Talked with the guys at D&D, and they were pretty demeaning toward the GE and implied that they're motor produced more torque, though he kept dodging my question of how much power their motor produced; that led me to believe that the D&D motor doesn't produce as much hp, but it may still be better or have more torque. I don't know. Any experiences with these products? Thanks a LOT!

![]() talking to a manufactorer about their choice of motors is useless. They are gonna say GE is better if GE gave them a better price. They will talk bad about D&D since D&D would not work with them.
I have no exp with either. I have had several built by EMP (former sponsor). I have had no issues with theirs. They will build to your specs. |

![]() I have used both the D&D motors and the GE motors. In my personal beliefs, the GE motors are far and away better than the D&D motors. For one thing, when you purchase a D&D motor at 8hp, that is 8hp PEAK versus a GE motor that cost less at 8hp continous duty that peaks at around 11-12hp. Secondly, I have had more issues with bad motor bearings on D&D motors than on any other kind of motor on the market. Sorry, I have absolutely no faith in the motors produced by D&D any longer.
Oh and your comments regarding them dodging questions is SOP for their techs. |

![]() This is like a Ford vs Chevy isn't? I've read where some of you have and haven't heard of bad bearing on a D&D motor. But those of us who have it sucks. I bought a torque kit it's about 1.5 y/o right @ $1400.00. No mud riding just live in NC. and have a lot of hills so needed torque for more reasons than one yard ,passenger's, etc. Well now my cart is almost as load as a gasser. I'm not saying D&D won't replace it or send a bearing it's just the point. When I spend that kind of money myself I would like for it to last. I don't just have money or time to throw away. Now back to the matter at hand. I have went and looked at plumquick's site witch was linked to this post and it sounds tempting. Has anyone got a review of these three motors

![]() Note that those are 3 classes of motors. They will re-wire your motor (Bandit) and the Assassin has more than one configuration for speed and torque.
