![]() I have a 1997 EZGO TXT that will not run. The Charger receptical mounted on the cart has been broken. I opened it up and, what appears to be small glass shards fell out where the red wire attaches to the white wire in receptical. There is no power on the red wire. What is this thing that appears to have been a very small bulb?
Thanks, Greaser |

![]() Welcome to the forum Bill W..........................
That is, or was, the reed switch. Yes, it will stop your cart from running. I forget if it is supposed to be normaly open or normaly closed. At the present time, the wires are probably not contacting each other, being the small red and white wires. If you connect the wires your cart will probably run. Please note: This is a safety feature to keep your cart from running while it is connected to the charger. |

![]() I am sorry if I violated protocol. This is my first experience with site and, I don't know how to originate a thread.
Thank you, Greaser |

![]() No. I have been looking (with no success) for a Reed Switch. Is it ok to use a jumper to get 36 V to the solenoid?
