Default 36 volt diode

i found a diode in my spare box, a 1n5406. is this the correct one for a 36v solenoid?

The one EZGO gave me the last time I was there for parts was IN5404, for a 07 PDS, 36v

thx rib. i think this is off my cart from before i converted it, but not sure, since i am still using a 36v activation set up. already had the hd solenoid, so i kept it and (i think) just changed the resistor.

There is very little difference between the two, for what we are using them for, either one will do. They are both 3 amp 600v blocking capacity. We used to use a 1 amp with 36v but pretty much everybody has gone to a 3 amp for everything.

cool scotty! didn't know either. all of the 1n5400 series are 3 amp, so i guess it doesn't hurt to have a larger voltage, correct? they are rated by voltage from what i can find on google. 100, 200 400 600, 1k.
