newbie with barn find
Hi everyone, Newbie here looking for some help with my barn find. My girlfriend says I should fix it, so here I go. I know it's an EZ GO, Gas driven, and green.
That is pretty much of what I know. Getting this buggy running is something I'm sure is within my ability, and this forum seems like a great place to start in my education of carts. Cars, boats, motorcycles, garden tractors are what im used to working on, so this is new stuff for me. Any help in identifying model and year would be a start, along with places to get parts would be of great help. Thanks , Kayakdon |

Looks like you got a 1994 model play the last two numbers of the year. Good luck looks like somebody unhook the governor.

I agree with Dabble Inn. Data plate shows its a 1988 and of course the picture shows it a 2-stroke

Congratulations, buddy that's a nice one. This is the place to get her back on the road. 2 stoker are not that bad, however you may have to bar-b-que the muffler.
good luck & keep us posted & its great to see a 30 year old cart brought back to life |

Re: newbie with barn find
It's an 88 with an 87 industrial type body. It has the right choke for the larger 88 carburetor. The exhaust pipe should enter the top of the muffler to match the 88 carb.
Here are your details. The 2 stroke engine runs in both forward, and reverse. The very most common problem is bad crankshaft seals. Depending on how long it has been sitting will determine what else could be wrong. Cleaning the carburetor, and fuel pump are pretty much the first things to do. Check compression. 120 psi is new. 100 is acceptable. 90 will still run. Check for spark, and tell us the story on how you acquired it. This is your manual. |

Re: newbie with barn find
That’s definitely an ‘88. Very similar to one I just sold. I’d fix it if there’s no serious rust and frame damage- looks like a fun project.

Re: newbie with barn find
looks like a project for sure. here are some additional documents for the 2 stroke. I have the service manual for the 1985, it should cover the '88, however it is to large to post here. if you would like it, PM me and we can figure someway to get to you. good luck - Phil
