Default Wheel and tire sizes

I just got a 99 EZgo txt. It has a lift kit with 8" wheels and tall tires. The tires have sidewall cracks and will need replacing. Just wondering what brand of tire and you folks are using. The usage will be pavement and turf. No mudding. Also is there any advantage of larger wheels other than looks.

Street tires are always the quietest and smoothest on pavement. You can’t go wrong with site sponsor Golf Cart Tire Supply.

larger wheels will mean a smaller sidewall on the tire. this will provide a bit stiffer ride, but a bit more stability at higher speeds.

smaller wheels with the same size tires will have taller side walls, giving a cushier ride because the tires can absorb a lot more of the little bumps.

I’ve had good service with Golf Cart Tire Supply- and the street tires seem to last forever, at least in the dirt.
LukeL & CP241 know their stuff - they are both from Georgia though . . . I wouldn’t hold it against them!

If all else fails, older Mazda Miata 15" wheels have the same 4x100 bolt pattern, and open up the possibility of actual street tires... Otherwise, 20x8 tires are probably your best bet.

I loved these tires on my last cart:
https://www.amazon.com/Kenda-Speed-R.../dp/B008YEGZ62

I was on a budget, and didn't want to buy new rims as well. I used the stock 8 inch rims and pumped up the pressure to about 32 psi. The ride great on the pavement, and get decent traction off road.

updated to add: Inflated at around 32 psi, the tires are a little over 20 inches tall, so an increase over stock, but not too obnoxious.
