1989 Marathon need new body trim or alternate ideas
So I started tearing down the EZGO over a year ago and I finally got around to painting it and started putting it back together. I need new molding that goes all aournt the sides and dash that fits in the groove. But I cannot find this stuff anywhere. it says discontinued and no replacement. Any ideas on what I could use instead?
Here is a link to the one site I found it but not in stock |

Bigred, that part number they show in your link, is that their part number or EZ GO?
Do you have a piece of it so you could perhaps go on eBay or somewhere and match it up to something close? |

If you mean the plastic dash insert, you will have to find a used one. On the bright side, the spike guards, rear mud guards, the front cowl, the emblem for the front cowl, and the pedals are all available as new aftermarket parts. If you buy the front cowl new, it may not be a perfect fit which will be confusing. You will have to trim it to fit. Just shave off the edges on the top of the cowl until it fits. You may also have to drill fresh holes in it as the aftermarket may have some pre drilled holes that do not line up perfectly out of the box.
All of the holes on the spike guards may bot match up and will require drilling new holes into the sheet metal as well. |

Re: 1989 Marathon need new body trim or alternate ideas
I did a search too with no luck other than the fender flares. I hate to see any parts become obsolete for our older buggies......
If you kept any of it perhaps you could salvage enough to make do with what you have, putting the worst of it under a dash cover and using fender flares would reduce the amount you need........Good Luck EDIT; I forgot the 89's have the front cowl, that's even less you'll need The dash covers are still available |
