This is one of the stock voltages offered by Western. They used this method with a 36v high speed motor to achieve the NEV speed level. Mine runs 21mph with basically a standard EZGO TXT chassis, 36v HS motor, Curtis 1205 controller and 42v power. When I upgrade to 48v it should take the speed to about 25mph. Anything faster than that will require front brakes for safety reasons. It's real easy getting these to go 30+ mph but stopping is a whole different and expensive idea.

WOW, Im hoping my txt will be in the same speed range after i go 48v...i installed the brake swich for brake light yesterday and i tighted up the rear brake stops pretty good w stock speed but who knows how they will hold up at higher speeds

Mine stops fine at 21mph, my friend's cart goes 28 and he seems to think, any faster than that and front brakes would be mandatory.
It doesn't sound like much but these were made to stop at 12-14mph speeds and at more than double that, I could see issues with trying to stop with only rear brakes. Any one who drives a motorcycle or bicycle can attest to that. Think of trying to stop your car with the hand brake.....NOT. |

I totaly get the machanics of this...im not trying to go super fast but enough to not feel like ppl jogging are passing me . About 22-25 would be ideal!!
