Default gas vs electric

Looking to buy a ezgo pds model 2002-2005 or a ezgo above 2000 gas. I know you can change chips on the pds for more speed. How much speed can I get from this by changing chips only? If I go with gas how much speed can I get with adjusting the govenor only and not over rev.

Top speed with PDS, assuming stock motor , controller and wheels with the "Freedom Chip" is 19.5 MPH. Someone else will have to chime in about gas cars.

Top speed for Club Car reprogramed is also 19.5 mph .....Beyond that Electric speed is pretty expensive .... And you need to start thinking about how you are going to stop if you get over about 25mph.

Thanks TDOG I am not wanting to get over 25 so that would work for me. What is the speed of a factory chip in a PDS?

Most carts go about 13-14 mph stock.

So club cars have a toggle switch in newer models similar to ezgo PDS? I did not realize that. What year did that start? Do they have a chip or just reprogram?
