body work
Got my wires all crimped and ready to install. Received my rear HD springs, U-bolts, spacers, bushings, front brush guard, and dash board in the mail yesterday. Hopefully get all that on this weekend if the weather holds up.
Next project is paint. My fav color is red, wife's is purple... Good combo if done right. But how can I work all the scratches on a plastic body? |

Re: body work
You can use regular automotive body filler for the really deep scratches. For the smaller, not so deep, scratches you can use spray can primer and slowly build up the thickness. Sand after about 3-4 coats and apply more coats, then repeat. After several rounds of this the scratch will fill up and be even with the panels surface.
Several members here have gotten great results with spray can paint. If you want to use automotive paint go with an acrylic enamel, base coat-clear coat. Hope this helps and good luck! |

Re: body work
Flexible primer... cool. My buddy at work paints cars and when I asked him, he said that the auto body filler wouldn't work because it isn't made for plastic. But isn't his bumpers made of plastic?
Our local cart shop is about 45 min away and only open from 9-4:30 mon-fri and closed on the weekends. It's a great shop but their hours SUCK! is this flexible primer found at an auto-parts store? |

Re: body work
flexible primer is used on plastic bumpers
if your local auto parts store sell's paint (dupont, ppg, house of kolor) they should sell the flexible primer. if not you might want to look for an auto paint store. some spot putty's are made for plastic, check with your paint store. |
