Seriously you should be the one to change out the controller. Just replace each wire to the same place on the new controller. Then check all wires before making the final connection. Ask if you have any questions.

Do I need to get the whole electronic speed control assembly or can I get away with buying certain internal parts of the assembly. I dont see any diodes in the diagram. Are they in the 'electronic speed controller'?

My bad, the diodes are inside the controller, I confused you with that term. Yes, the entire controller needs to be replaced. When you remove it I will have you do a check on it with a meter as one last verification the controller is fried.

Just a thought, if there was a diode on the solenoid it would make smoke. Any funny looking burned devices on your solenoid? This you could easily and cheaply replace yourself!

You'll need a new controller. Controllers are generally not user serviceable.

Search on:
Alltrax
Curtis
Logisystems

There are others.

Nate's on the job!

Can I suggest that this is a perfect opportunity for a performance upgrade? Check out our sponsors and see about an Alltrax controller for more torque Did we establish what year the cart was and whether it has a run/tow switch.....

I havent opened the controller lid yet-the spec shows a resistor on the solenoid and a part number for a diode but no diode in the spec?

The last 2 numbers of the manufactures code is the year, located inside the passenger side glove box, the 2004 and newer ezgos dont have a serial number plate in the box, they have a serial number sticker under the rear access panel behind the seat, and then on the driverside frame rail below the floor board, stay away from 96-97 DCS carts, there is a a reason they only built them for a short time,

DCS will have a F&R lever behind the driver's knee and a run/tow switch on the enviromental cover on the controller. The backside of the f&R looks round like a hockey puck.

PDS carts will have a Tow/Run switch with toggle switch for F&R on the dash

SERIES carts will have a shift lever like the dcs cart down by your legs, but it will NOT have a tow/run switch. Also the actual F&R switch is in the corner by the
