Tomorrow look under the controller lid for something burnt. If you can't see anything it is inside the controller.

I have a PDS (K502) - spec says resister for pds on solenoid - dont want to spend any more $$ since just dumped cash into batteries - it would be great if all i have to do is replace a $5 resistor! Looks like a lock washer and nut for it with no welding?

Do you have a voltmeter with diode test? Last check before you open the pocket book.

Note:

If you choose to go a route other than the Curtis PDS stock replacement you will lose the diagnostic capabilities built in to the Curtis PDS controller.

OK-got new refurbished PDS controller in mail so started to take old one out. I had a very hard time getting the J1 10 pin connector off. Once I did I noticed that 2 of the pins were fried (also the back of the controller where the pin attached was warped from heat!) Did I mention its 100 degrees in my garage!!! My guess is now I need another new part. On the J1 connector, the red/white wire was the most fried and the red wire next to it looked partially fried. So Im now going to borrow a voltmeter and order a new J1 connector. I'm trying not to curse my husband under my breath.

Also I noticed the amps were different on the new controller-it is 275 instead of 300. The volts are the same. Should I worry about this?
