Can I move the forward/reverse switch?
I have a '05 EZ-GO PDS and would like to move my f/r switch to the steering column. My neighbor has done this and it is very much like a car with a shifter handle. I don't want to spend the money he did, so if I can find a way to mount the current switch around the column, that is the way I would like to go.
Any thoughts? |

If I was going to do it I would buy a column cover to run the wires under unless you like wires hangin. Then maybe repurpose a universal turn signal switch. Either way, your going to have to spend some cash.

Re: Can I move the forward/reverse switch?
No, don't want to spend the money on a column cover right now. I was planning to put them in a black tube running the length of the column. I also was planning to use the existing forward/reverse switch until I find something else that doesn't break the bank.
Moving the switch is because I travel with a 70 pound dog on the seat beside me and it's pretty tough to reach over her to flip that switch. Besides that, the location of it just plain stinks. ;) Thanks for replying. Keep the advice coming! |

No matter what you do - It's going to cost money! Starting with around 50 foot of new cable and cable ends. Just wait and buy your neighbors kit when you cash in those aluminum cans...

Re: Can I move the forward/reverse switch?
So, I'm gathering there's no way to splice into the current wiring? And, 50 feet of cable to run from the dash to near the steering wheel?
Thanks, guys, I'll figure something out. I just don't want to sink anymore money into this thing this year. I bought it, a cover, and had lights installed and it probably needs new batteries...that's enough. Just wanted to move the switch -- which I thought I could do for around $20 of wiring and some type of homemade switch harness. Guess not. |

Relocate the switch to the panel below the seat beside your right leg.

Re: Can I move the forward/reverse switch?
Try this: always leave cart in forward and park where you will not need reverse. If you do need to reach the F/R handle for reverse, accelerate to full speed then apply brake firmly (both feet) and launch dog from seat through windshield or opening. Shift to reverse and yell "come here boy"

Can anything be done to a cart for $20.00? Maybe a decal for the front cowl? |
