My 97 cc ds was a 48v series cart. It had a mcor, not sure if it came from the factory with it or not. I did have to replace it with newer style mcor because it wasn't waterproof.

You're probably referring to the old POT box. MCOR came out in 2001 and they've not changed at all since then

I'm sure you're right, it was a 5k-0 pot mounted in the same place as mcor, just shaped a bit differently if I remember correctly. It didn't handle water very well I remember that. Installed the new mcor and no problems since.

The pot box actually was mounted on the inside of the driver's side frame rail. The MCOR goes on the outside of the passenger's frame rail. You're either describing a custom job or a busted up MCOR.
