Re: Raptor or Bad Boy for Club Car Series
Hey guys, decided to go with a Raptor because there was one in stock local and trying to get all the work done for the 4th. When I unboxed it this evening I found this (see pics). Not sure if the screw is just overtightened or what but can anyone let me know if you think this nonaligned gap is just a cosmetic issue (which I don't care about) or could be a bigger problem? Thanks

Re: Raptor or Bad Boy for Club Car Series
My D297 looks like that. Runs great. I think a lot of the aftermarket motors look like that. But----I am not an expert.

That is just the dust cover for the bushes. Not a problem. If it bothers you loosen the screw and straiten it out.You can remove it to replace or inspect bushes without tearing motor apart.

Re: Raptor or Bad Boy for Club Car Series
Rough week - at work and hit a few bumps in the upgrade road - I will summarize in my other thread on the overall upgrade experience.
But as far as the motor. Just finished installing a few hours ago. First test run without the rear seat and just me: 22mph up hill and 28 mph on a straight away and I ran out of road - WOW! Then put the rear flip seat on (130 lbs) and 3 kids and still did 26 on the same straight away. This Raptor/Alltrax combo is unreal! ScottyB, another validation point for your theory on a 36V motor in a 48V cart. I did notice motor is pretty hot after these speed runs - hope that does not become a problem... |
