Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
you need to make certain fuse is good for charger to run..........so thats 1st..........you also have to make certain you have at least 38 volts for charger to come on..........you can also run a jumper wire from the grey wire to neg. terminal of #6 battery ( not with 100% certainty ) that it will work but if charger comes on it would be in the OBC ..........your year cart is notoriuos for eating OBC,s but with the orange battery light leads me to beleive it has been replaced at least once.........other than the fuse the only part that effects charging is the OBC so thats where i would start........not the cheapest fix but if your certain charger is good there is nothing else..........................

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
is the breaker on the charger popped?
also, if the cart is below 30something volts, the charger will not come on. |

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
No my charger is fine. works when plugged into another cart. also when i plug another charger into my cart it still does not come on, so the problem is with the cart. I see where people bypass the relay? I think i will try that next.

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
bongo that really won't tell you much it will come on and work you have already confirmed the charger works on another cart.
look at the back of the charge receptacle the center wire yellow or grey it goes to the OBC, is there a rubber boot at the OBC if so peal it back and there is a plug there that's where you need to jump, Jump that wire to the neg battery lead (if it unplugs at the OBC that's good). If the charger starts up and runs then it's OBC if not then there is a bad connection or fuse blown. |

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
Also on battery #6 the black wire that goes through the OBC to the controller should have two wires connected at that battery !!! check that

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
Hey bongokittykat...did you catch what sonicj was saying? I've had it happen to me. The batteries drop below a certain level of charge and your charger won't come on...on your cart, but will on another cart

Re: Charger does not start when plugged in
updated
backside of charge receptacle center wire GREY follow it up to the OBC is there a rubber boot if so pull it back the wire should unplug there ground that wire to the neg 48 volts at ( I think) # 6 battery with the charger plugged in (both 120 and to cart) Does Charger come on?? if there is no boot at OBC and wire does not disconnect there then get a fuse housing from auto parts store and a 1/2 amp fuse and ground the GREY wire at the Receptacle again to NEG of #6 battery, Does Charger com on?? If it does come on (next step) If you had to do step 2 above then check the fuse or continuity of GREY wire from OBC to Receptacle. Check red wire going to OBC for +48 vdc Check smallest black wire (there are three) going to OBC for - 48 vdc Do A OBC Reset |
