Default New to me 1996 Cart, what V is it?

I just bought a used golf cart near Dallas Texas for my grandfather to use to get around at the lake. I actually left it at the house of the lady I purchased from and had a question.

Can anyone tell from the serial number A9603-482616 what batteries go in the cart? Seems that the 48 in No. is pretty obvious 48 volts but sometimes things are not as they seem!

Will it be obvious when batteries are dying?

Anything else I should know before i give it to him?

Thanks
David

Welcome to BGW. It appears to be a 96 model from those numbers. Did the cart come with a charger?

CC made both 36 and 48v carts in 96. The easiest way to tell them apart is by the charger receptacle..... it it is a round plug with 3 prongs it is a 48v cart. If it's a 2 blade square plug on the cart and charger, she is 36v.

Good luck with the new cart

Man, thanks for simple info. it has 3 prongs and a round gray plug in. So I am guessing it is a 48v.
Is there an adv. or disadvantage to a 48 versus a 36?

David

And seriously thanks for replying so fast and plain. If ups runs a free shipping deal I will buy the batteries from ya! Thanks Man

Thanks for the thought but wet cell batts are HAZMAT ..... UPS wants nothing to do with them. I do make sweet cable sets for the cart though

May need to get em! But I may need everything before this is done! The batteries are "Pacers" they have 3 white caps for water and say 105min@75amps.

How many batteries are in the cart?

3 caps are 6v batteries, so you would need 8-- 6v batteries to make 48v, if you have 6--6v batteries that is 36v and thats the wrong batteries in that cart, the batteries do have 3 fill holes right

Although I am doing all this remote style. As I am in DFW and my buddy that hauled the cart down Monday is at Toledo. He is sending me pics and they indeed do have 3 white round caps.
