Re: 2000.5 club car ds brake adjustment
there should be an adjustor on each rear brake, you,ll have to pull the wheels and drums it will be on the lower side just like the adjustors on cars........................

on the upper backing plate outside is there a little like 7mm screw? it would be right about where the bleeder for a wheel cylinder is......if so thats an adjust also but i,m not sure if it would come with both of them................did you take things apart and clean and lube them?............................

Re: 2000.5 club car ds brake adjustment
Hey Tom... I don't mean to correct you, but, the 7mm nut (torx or whatever do-dad) is on pre-96 vehicles... 97+ are self-adjusting!
cc01, If your brakes are locking up like my 98 48V did... (Just lightly touching the pedal, locks up the brakes, almost sending you over the steering wheel!) Get some coarse (100 grit) and light (400 grit) Emory cloth or sandpaper, Remove the drums, use the coarse cloth/paper and lightly sand the brake shoes to remove the "glaze". Use the 400 grit on the drums, and lightly sand them to remove the "glaze". Clean the shoes, the drums, and all internals with brake cleaner, then reassemble and test! ALSO... check to make sure that the axle U bolts are tight... I've heard that loose U bolts do this also! I don't know if this will work for you, but... it worked for me! |
