48v to 12v power converter
Im new to this forum but i have looked up information and found this forum to be very helpful. I have a 48 volt club car and im looking to install front and rear lights. Also im thinking about putting some LED strips under my cart. Is there a certain power converter that i should get? Both the LED stris and front and rear lights run off of 12 volts. Should the power converter have a certain output amp to it?
Thanks for any help. |

Re: 48v to 12v power converter
Output amps will depend on what you are planning on hooking up to it.
I installed a 20A converter on my cart. I'm pulling lights, cig lighter and a soon to be radio. You should consider getting a converter that has a trigger wire hooked up through the key switch so it is turned off when not in use. You can use other converters but they still need to be switched. You need a fuse block. There are fuse blocks made for golf carts since electric carts do not use a frame ground. The fuse block I'm speaking about has terminals to run your grounds back to plus the Pos terminals that are fused. You need a fuse block that looks like this with both pos and neg terminals. |

Re: 48v to 12v power converter
This is the converter that I bought. You may want something different but I have no problems with this one.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190530622956...84.m1423.l2649 The fuse block is below but you may want to check other places. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOLF-CART-**...item1e65e9540b I do not advertise on Flebay. I do recommend if sponsors sell the above products, then buying them from them. I posted the links for reference only. |
