Default 05 Precedent battery Problem?

I have a second hand question ,from my Dad, that I'm hoping you can answer.

My Dad put 4 12v batteries in his 05 Precedent last night and he said it sparked, when hooking up the last cable. He then realized he needed to set it to tow mode, so he did, hooked everything up, switched the tow mode off, but says the cart is dead, not even a back-up alarm.
I know nothing about the elect carts,
Can you point me in a direction, of what may have happened, so I can try to help him out. He assured me the cables/wiring is correct

Some of the CC are VERY sensitive to the run/tow switch being left on when reconnected and the controller will fry.
I do not know specifically which carts this applies to. First question I would ask is, is the solenoid clicking when he tries to go?
IF no, Then is there 48v at the solenoid small posts when the gas peddle is pressed?
If no, are you missing the + or the - side of the solenoid activation circuit?
If, with the cart on jacks, you supply the missing half of the solenoid activation circuit does the solenoid instantly CLICK and then the cart runs with the peddle?
If no, this may be a controller problem.

Recheck all connections 3 Xs.

He got lucky he could have easily fried the controller ignoring the run/tow switch. Glad things worked out.

This is common. Sometimes after the power is taken completely away it takes a few cycles of the accel pedal to wake the system back up. However, please make sure he puts it in TOW mode in the future. These guys are correct. The controllers on these IQ cars are VERY sensitive.
